Education and Training:
Doctor Doctor of Psychology from Northwest University
Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University
Bachelor of Arts in Biological Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino
Dr. Felts received her clinical training from multiple community counseling centers providing therapy services and at HopeCentral Pediatric Clinic working on autism evaluations. Her previous training has helped her gain experience working with various cultural backgrounds across all ages. Through her training, Dr. Felts has found her passion working with children, teens, and adults affected by neurodevelopmental disorders, family conflict, and cultural dynamics.
Background and Experience:
Dr. Felts gained an interest in counseling psychology while working with children with developmental disabilities. She spent a few years working on autism research at the University of Washington Autism Center and continued to grow her skills by providing assessments at HopeCentral Pediatric Clinic. In addition to her passion working with neurodevelopmental disorders, Dr. Felts’ interests also includes working with cultural and generational differences. Her dissertation topic focused on generational differences in the Bengali community and how that differs across first and second generations.
Special Interests and Services:
Dr. Felts strives to provide clients with a safe space of compassion and acceptance where they can feel comfortable speaking openly without fear of judgment. She considers each person’s needs, goals, personality, and cultural influences throughout the therapy process. Dr. Felts strives to understand how biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects interact in an individual’s life. Her approach is integrative with mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy. She is constantly learning new ways to best help her clients to reach their goals.
